Questions:
How do I pay bail for someone in jail with my credit/debit card?
- If the person you are bailing/bonding out has had a bail/bond amount set and is eligible to be released, you can pay by credit or debit card.
- You must be present at the jail with a picture ID and your credit or debit card to begin the process.
- The jail official or cashier will give you a piece of paper called a Fact Sheet. You must have this information. Take it to any phone to begin the transaction.
- One of our customer service agents will process your payment.
- To complete the transaction, take your credit/debit card and photo ID back to the jail official or cashier.
- Sign the authorization form
- Transaction is complete
How quickly is the inmate released?
Upon completion of the credit/debit card transaction, GovPayEXP immediately sends notification of the payment to the jail. The entire transaction will take less than 10 minutes. The release of the inmate will depend upon the guidelines of jail.
Does this service cost anything?
GovPayEXP charges a non-refundable fee for using our service; however the entire bail payment is immediately forwarded to the jail.
Is GovPayEXP a bail bond company?
No. GovPayEXP is a cash facilitator and merchant processor. We enable consumers to use credit and debit cards to make payments. We do not write bonds.
